Frequently used resources for new faculty members
If a faculty member receives an offer from another institution, the chairperson of the department should communicate with the appropriate divisional Associate Dean and the Dean.
A department chair should not discuss the issue of retirement with an individual faculty member unless and until the faculty member raises it first but once retirement is discussed, important to provide support and clear and accurate information.
Approval workflow, criteria for review, areas of responsibility
Appeal process for faculty annual raises
After performing annual reviews of each faculty member in the department, chairpersons are asked to provide the Dean’s Office with salary recommendations for the coming academic year.
The College expects different levels of service from different ranks.
Visiting faculty members may be assigned service responsibilities, depending on the person’s position description.
For TPAC faculty, since research is not normally expected as a primary aspect of their responsibilities, the dynamics of service obligations are slightly different than they are for T-TT faculty.
