Arts & Letters Staff Onboarding Overview

We heard in the staff pulse survey that we need a more welcoming, inclusive, and consistent onboarding experience that connects employees to the Notre Dame mission and prepares them to succeed in their roles. Our onboarding program leans in on cohort learning and enhancing the first day.

Supervisor Benefits:

  • Dean’s office will oversee employment basics with the employee taking the burden off of supervisors

  • A good onboarding program increases employee engagement and increases retention

Employee Benefits:

  • Connecting the employee to our mission and vision

  • Providing clear expectations for employee

  • Creating a welcoming and inclusive environment with an increased sense of belonging

New Hire Schedule: First Day

9:00 AM Employment Paperwork (Grace Hall)

    • Bridget Fields to meet candidates and escort them

    • I-9 & W4 paperwork

    • Campus ID Card

9:30 AM Parking Pass (Hammes Mobray)

10:00 AM New Hire Orientation

12:00 PM Welcome Lunch (100 O’Shag)

    • Lunch with new candidate cohort + A&L Operations team

1:00 PM Visit Office Space Department
