Arts & Letters Staff Annual Awards

The  Awards & Recognition Committee is committed to the celebration and recognition of all Arts & Letters employees. The committee has identified six distinct awards that will be given annually to a Notre Dame staff member within the College of Arts and Letters and one award for a Notre Dame staff member outside the College of Arts and Letters.

Leadership in Mission Award

This award recognizes an individual who exemplifies the University’s mission to be a force for good by actively embracing, supporting, and fostering values that reflect and advance that commitment.

Leadership in Excellence Award

Honors a staff member whose work exemplifies the highest standards of quality, service, initiative, and impact, advancing the College through exemplary performance and dedication.

Collaboration Award

Celebrates an individual who exemplifies honesty, humility, kindness, and exceptional teamwork while strengthening cohesion across units.

Community & Inclusion Impact Award 

This award honors an individual who strengthens our community by treating every person with dignity and respect, championing inclusivity, and advancing the University’s commitment to a just and supportive environment where all can thrive.

Innovation Award

Honors a staff member who embraces creativity and dedication to implement new processes, ideas, or solutions that materially improve the work of the College or the student experience.

Partnership Award

Recognizes a colleague outside Arts & Letters whose collaboration strengthens the College, demonstrating ND Values and advancing a shared mission.

Commonly Asked Questions

What if I am unsure what award to submit for?

If you are unsure of what award fits best, that is OK! Submit a nomination and the recognition committee will review and enter it in the appropriate category.

Who can nominate?

Anyone can submit an award nomination including staff, faculty, students, and visitors.

How are winners selected?

The recognition committee will review the nominations. If someone on the committee is nominated they sit out for the discussion on that award.

What do award winners receive?

The committee will meet in early May to determine the award winners based on a rubric. Each annual award winner will be announced at the Staff Spring Luncheon and receive a customized plaque and monetary reward.
