Communications

The Office of Communications provides strategic planning and communications services to the College of Arts and Letters at the University of Notre Dame.

One of our primary goals is to assist in promoting the many activities and accomplishments of the College’s students, faculty, administrators, and staff. We offer a variety of strategic consulting, editorial, and creative services as well as referrals when we are unable to take on additional projects in-house.

    Josh Weinhold was appointed as director of communications and marketing for the College of Arts & Letters in 2023, after previously serving as the Office of Communications’ associate director and assistant director. He has more than 15 years of experience in higher education marketing, strategic communications, and political and legal journalism. Josh earned his bachelor’s degree in journalism and humanities from Valparaiso University.

    Responsibilities

    As communications director, Josh is responsible for developing and executing the College’s strategic communications plan. He oversees all Arts and Letters communications and marketing projects, including news, print, and electronic publications and promotions, social media, video, special events, and more than 100 websites. Josh serves as a member of the College’s Executive Committee and an advisor to the dean, and he provides consulting, editorial, and creative services to faculty leaders across Arts & Letters. He also represents Arts & Letters across campus, coordinating on strategies and messaging that serve wider University goals and communications initiatives.

    Jon primarily creates motion content telling the breadth of stories about the College of Arts & Letters. His work includes capturing and editing video footage along with motion graphics. Jon also loves to create still images that capture important moments for the College of Arts & Letters. Jon is driven by his love to figure out all of the logistics involved in showing and telling a great story. Jon has garnered over 40 awards for visual content over the course of his career in advertising, journalism, and higher education.

    Jon graduated from Valparaiso University and currently lives in Hobart, Indiana with his wife and two daughters.

    Heidi is the graphic designer for the College of Arts and letters. She enjoys working on all things print related as well as using her design eye to help collaborate on digital/web projects. She is a steward of the Notre Dame and A&L brand and loves to help train and answer questions for anything brand related. Heidi has been a part of the team since 2018. Previously she worked in design roles for a printing company, ad agency and in a freelance capacity. She has also taught design classes in higher education. Heid enjoys the variety of work and opportunity to be creative within the many different departments in A&L. She enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, running, and anything creative!

    Adah joined the Office of Communications as editorial content specialist this year. In her role, she writes stories that capture the efforts and accomplishments of faculty, alumni, and students in the College of Arts & Letters. Adah began her time at Notre Dame soon after graduating from Colorado State University, where she obtained a bachelor's degree in journalism and media communication and worked for her student newspaper. When she isn't writing real-life stories, Adah loves reading and watching fictional stories while snacking or crafting.

    Kim has been working as Staff Assistant for the Office of Communications since 2016. A year ago she physically moved over to the Dean’s Office as Office Coordinator at the front desk and carried her Communications responsibilities with her. She is happy to help the staff in areas such as updating the online events calendar, paying bills, ordering supplies, tracking print material/swag inventory, scheduling meetings, planning event logistics, and many other administrative duties.

    Kim grew up in the area and is a graduate of Indiana University at South Bend. She enjoys walking and biking outside, no matter the time of year. She looks forward to a bit more travel with her husband as both of their kids, while not quite out of the house yet, are officially out of school.
