Summer Session Hiring Steps

What does summer session hiring include?

Summer session hiring includes teaching assistants and adjunct faculty (including emeriti, term teaching faculty, and concurrent) for summer classes.  Please follow the guidance sent by the Summer Session office in February of each year.  If you didn’t receive the email sent by Summer Session, please contact your divisional senior administrative coordinators in the dean’s office.

How do I hire a current faculty member?

If you are hiring a regular faculty member (from the University of Notre Dame, regardless of college/school) to teach a Summer Session class, a hiring packet does not need to be created in OnBase.

The department/center/institute/program is responsible for building all summer session jobs (for instructors of record positions, the jobs are built-in faculty jobs - please contact Michelle LaCourt to request access to faculty jobs; for student TA positions, jobs are built-in student jobs).
