What better way to spread holiday cheer than a decorating competition?! We invite you to participate in a holiday decorating competition. Please complete the following form by December 6.

 
Categories:
  • Team (two or more staff located in the same area team up)
  • Individual (decorating your own office/desk/cubicle area)
Judging
A panel of judges will be around December 11 from 1 pm - 3:30 pm to determine a winner. The winner will be announced at the Arts and Letters Staff Luncheon later that week. There will be an award for Team and one for Individual. In addition to an award, the winner will of course have bragging rights for the year.
 
Judges will use a rubric that awards points for:
  • Theme
  • Creativity/Spirit
  • Originality
Rules
Please note that all supplies and decorations must be supplied by the staff member. University and departmental funds are not to be utilized.
 
Do:
  • Use only non-flammable or flame-retardant decorations
  • Make sure all exits and hallways are accessible and not blocked by decorations
  • Keep decorations away from heat sources, windows, and doors
  • Make sure electrical cords have no frayed, cracked wires or broken sockets
  • Always unplug Christmas lights when leaving your room
Don't:
  • Use university or departmental funds
  • Hang anything from sprinkler heads
  • Overload outlets or use extension cords
  • Hang lights through doorways or string more than three light sections together
