Faculty Family Service at Cultivate Food Rescue

  • Saturday, February 17, 2024
  • 9:00 am - 11:00 am
  • 1403 Prairie Ave, South Bend

Cultivate Food Rescue collects and uses prepared food as well as donated ingredients that would otherwise be thrown away to create nutritious meals for students who face food insecurity, especially on the weekends when they can't be assisted through school breakfast and lunch programs.

As a meal processing volunteer, you will be able to work with fellow ND faculty members and families to help produce several hundred meals that will be frozen to provide nourishment for these students and other food-insecure community members. Individual faculty and faculty families are welcome to participate (children 6 years and up are welcome to help)

Cultivate has altered the morning volunteer times to one shift of two hours from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. However, there will be two food preparation lines operating. Each time slot has limited space.

Faculty Lenten Mini-Retreat: Experiencing the Spirituality of Art

  • Friday, February 23, 2024
  • 10:30 am - 1:00 pm
  • Raclin Murphy Museum of Art

Facilitated by Emily Normand, the Lilly Endowment Museum Fellow for Religion and Spirituality in the Visual Arts at the Raclin Murphy Museum of Art.

In this mini-retreat, we will explore major aspects of how one might think about art as “spiritual” through the lens of three works from the Raclin Murphy Museum of Art’s collection. Come to look, learn, reflect, and discuss the various ways that the spiritual aspects of art elevate both our thinking about the works themselves and our own personal encounters with them. Our inquiry will explore works of art across time, culture, and religious traditions.

A simple lunch is included.
