Day One
NDID and netID
- Your NDID is a 9-digit number. You can find your number on the Employee Dashboard in InsideND
- Activate your University NetID account
- Your netID is your username to log in to all applications on campus
- This is also your email address: netID@nd.edu
- While you cannot change your netID, you can create a personalized email alias. Click here to learn more.
Employment Eligibility Verification (Form I-9)
- Verification is a two-step process required for all new employees to confirm identity and authorization to work in the U.S.:

- Complete Form I-9 Section 1 by your first day of employment.
- Present original, unexpired identity and work authorization documents to NDHR at 101 Grace Hall to complete Section 2 within three business days of your start date ( Hours: Monday–Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.) or Schedule a Zoom meeting using Calendly. You must do this within 3 business days of your start date.
Campus Access & Parking Permits
- Employees may park on campus at no cost but must display a valid parking permit on the rearview mirror at all times.
- Register your vehicle through your ParkND account (via InsideND) or in person at Parking Services, 101 Grace Hall.
- Review the Parking Services website for permitted faculty/staff lots, restricted areas, ADA parking, reserved parking, and violation policies.
University ID/Irish1 Card
- Every employee of the University of Notre Dame is issued a campus identification (ID) card (Irish1Card) which serves as proof of affiliation and provides access to campus buildings, dining halls, the bookstore, library, and athletic facilities.
- Obtain your Irish1Card by either:
- Visiting the Campus Card Office (101 Grace Hall) to have your ID photo taken, or
- Submitting a photo through the Irish1Card website.
Connect to Wifi and VPN
- eduroam is the secure campus wifi network
- You can find instructions here on how to connect to eduroam on your devices
- The VPN (Virtual Private Network) is a network access service that permits remote systems to obtain a campus IP address and access the ND network as if they were locally connected. Certain restricted systems require a campus IP address for access.

Download Okta to your phone and set up
- Okta is the single-sign-on to all Notre Dame applications require two-factor authentication
- You can find instructions here on how to add Okta to your phone
Download Grubhub
- Most Campus Dining locations are cashless. Grubhub is the easiest way to order food on campus.
- Create an account, Navigate to “Account” and select “Campus Dining”
- Select “University of Notre Dame” and chose your affiliation
Visit the Employee Self-Service Center
- Use this site to view your employee info and to locate any form, policy, or HR-related information you need
