All eligible scholars NOT on a tenure track may apply directly to NEH by the sponsor deadline (September 18).
Tenured/tenure-track faculty must be nominated by the university. This year, Notre Dame may nominate only one tenured/tenure-track faculty member for this award. To be considered for this nomination, please submit the required materials (listed below) to limited@nd.edu by the internal deadline (August 15). I have attached a guide to help you draft the short project summary for the internal competition.

Send 1) a one page (maximum) cover page with PI name and a statement confirming eligibility (per pages 4-7 of the NOFO) and 2) a two page (maximum) project summary (per page 19 of the NOFO review criteria) in one PDF document to limited@nd.edu by the internal deadline.
Internal applications that do not comply with the directions will not receive review.
Please note:
- New eligibility guidelines: The program limits eligibility to individuals who have not previously held an NEH award in any of its programs for individuals.
- New nominations guidelines: Institutions may nominate only one faculty member at this deadline.
