Conductor Tip: Correctly Updating CVs

Author: Matthew Bizoe

Did you know that Google can pull an old CV when someone Googles our faculty, even if you've updated the document on their profile in Conductor? Here are two ways for admins to prevent outdated CVs from appearing in a Google search and keeping their websites running smoothly as CVs are updated this year:

  1. Before replacing the link to a CV on a faculty member's profile, search for the old CV in the Uploads tab and hit "Replace" for the file in question. You can upload the new document, and the URL and Description will automatically update to match. Conductor will make the updates automatically on the faculty members profile
  2. After assigning the new CV link to faculty, navigate to the "Documents" tab, search for the old CV, and press delete.
Whichever method you choose, ensure that outdated CVs are removed from your site by searching for them and double-checking. If you're unsure if a document is in use, check the "Reference" line to see how many times the file is used on your site.
